One unit of physical distance along the x-axis is equal in length to one unit of physical distance along the y-axis. In this case the x- and y-axes are scaled identically. Usually graph paper is marked off with lines that are spaced equally along the x and y axes. It is the most commonly used graph papers by the student. The grids printed on centimeter graph paper is of 1cm x 1cm and the extent of the sheet is 8.5 inches in width and 11 inches in length.
